My lab’s research into gravitic manipulation was funded as a DATA/NASA joint venture with an eye toward asteroid impact avoidance; the idea is that any large body headed toward Earth can be shoved off course, avoiding the need to do anything drastic (like detonating a nuke or worse).  We were too late to save Galaxy City, but the prototypes have been incorporated into a cybernetic control rig, which I’m now using in an extended field test.

The sibyls and oracles exist in lore of ancient times, they were said to be able to see and interpret the future. The most famous of sibyls was the Oracle of Delphi, associated with the god of the sun, Apollo.

What if there was more to these tales of ancient soothsayers? Some speculate these were some of the first super-powered individuals.

I have to admit, I believe in all that. 'Cause you see, well....my family's had a secret, at least my mom's side. She's a descendant of the Oracle of Delphi, and there's been a book passed down through her family that chronicles those individuals that are able to see the future or have had some sort of psychic abilities. Up 'til now these people have all been females, so it's a bit weird that I can see the past, present and future. I want to do more though than what they did in the past. I want to be more proactive that just simply being able to tell the future, I want to be part of it.

My brother and I have both developed mutant abilities to control fire. To hear Robbie tell it, he's been the target of a vast blacklisting conspiracy for years (not me too, mind you, just him). If you buy that, I'd like to sell you some prime real estate out in Woodvale. The truth is, Rob's an action junkie, and a little bit of a bully to boot. Throwing his lot in with Arachnos was the path of least resistance; Rob doesn't care which side he's in for, as long as he's in the game. My brother's gone on long enough, dragging our family's reputation into the mud as Cinderlock. It's time for me to be the responsible one and start cleaning up the mess he's made.
