Gravitios started out life as a pretty normal human, except that he was rather gifted when it came to scientific engineering feats, which he had noble ambitions of using to help better society.

He developed a lightweight armor that he used to study the effects gravity and how it could be used in more practical uses for day to day life.

That was until his lab was attacked by Malta Operatives, who sought to use the armor as a means to contain and control metahumans.

Dominator You want to know me? How much do you think you'd like to know? I can promise you that if I told you all the things I've seen... that I've done... that you'd have horrible nightmares. Who knows? Maybe I'll make you have them anyways. I don't care about you.

Dominator While traveling to the university, Laurie and her twin sister, Maria, was attacked by members of the gang known as the Lost. As the Lost took advantage of the twin sisters, the mutant abilities of Maria erupted, bathing everyone in intense radioactive heat. The Lost who survived fled, leaving the twin sisters and their fallen comrades behind.

Both Laurie and Maria were so badly hurt by the radiation that they were "recruited" into a new project by Dr. Bright of the Paragon City Government. Their bodies were fused with advanced robotic parts.

Laertes was a carefree young man growing up in the ancient Greek city-state of Megalopolis when word broke out that invaders were on their way to siege the city. Out of fear and feeling useless, Laertes prayed and made sacrifices to the patron gods of Megalopolis, but it fell on deaf ears.
