Well, the "Free" side of the game is a fishing lure more than anything else. You COULD play for free forever if you really wanted to... But look at all those cool offers!
I bought Street Justice with all the money I saved not buying the lackluster CoT set, and I remade Jun, my crime-fighting little girl. She's on pinnacle, and is is more awesome than ever with Street Justice to wield. It's both amazingly hilarious and also completely awesome to see a tiny little girl kick the asses of big tough-guy thugs in such a painful, brutal manner. It fits her self-taught fighting style, it fits her character of lots of heart and energy, and it looks damn cool!

- Going to have to check out that new helmet, but I imagine it will be similar to the one the firechief wears in Steel Canyon when you are putting out the Hellion fires. I'd love more helmet options though, or if you could combine multiple existing helmet styled pieces to make more unique helmets

Really? I thought it was kinda weak. Sure the Signiture Story Arc is great, and I do love me a new Aura, but they aren't exactly sale prices, and I get the Arc for free anyways. And what's up with all the enhancements on sale? Why not just get them in game or through wentworths and save yourself a few bucks? And again the time manipulation set is worth the 400 points, but I already have it, cause of that whole VIP thing.
You know what, strike that. On second thought, as a VIP player, I only see the aura to interest me in opening my wallet, but for a free player, this probably isn't such a bad sale after all. Deffinitly better then the other offerings lately, sale wise at least. While I do like new costumes, they haven't been at discount prices lately. Still Time Manipulation alone probably would make it worth while to a free player.

Truss, the IO's you can buy in the Paragon Market are attuned to your account, meaning their level matches your own, but you can only use them on your account and can't be sold or traded. I've actually purchased a few sets because it is nice to be able to put in five IO's that level up with your character so that you never have to worry about slots in a power.
Every week there may be stuff that does or doesn't appeal to all players, so you may want to count that as a blessing if nothing appeals to you, since it means you get to save your points (or money if you would need to buy points).
That said, you may want to be excited about an upcoming store item - the non combat german shepherd pet.

The signature story arc was a great disappointment. So great, in fact, that it killed any desire I had to play or even know about the remaining arcs. Glad I didn't pay money for it. The rest of the stuff is pretty cool, though. I haven't checked the store yet, but I hope the "puppy" and hat are purchaseable per account as opposed to earnable from an event per character. Same for the Pilgrim hat, actually.
