Adversity CoH Summer Lineup Change
July 3, 2011 - 2:40pm
Announcing a new summer lineup!
We have decided to test out some new time slots for larger participation in our weekend events. Because of the summer slowdown in group numbers, we have changed the times for both Super Saturday and Sinister Sunday, starting next week.
Super Saturday will now NOT be in the morning, but at 8pm Eastern on Saturdays.
Sinister Sunday will now NOT be in the morning, but at 7pm Eastern on Sundays.
Times are flexible, and we are willing to swap them around. Please look at your CoX schedules and post opinions here......Adversity Blank Stares are NOT welcome

Check out the changes happening to our PC Gaming Community Events right here!

Hmmm..... Not sure if this is good for me, or bad for me. Means I have to change my schedule a bit, but also means I won't miss any events when I have to work in the morning. We will have to see how it goes. TThat said, anything at all that gets moer people showing up for events has my support.

I like the mornings but I can do nights as well. But morning are preferred.

I'm sad to see us lose the Saturday and Sunday morning events, but, honestly, there hasn't been much participation in the mornings for the past few months, so hopefully more people will be around. I probably won't be on for these as often as I was in the mornings, but I'll jump on whenever I'm able!

See this is a perfect example of the dreaded ADVERSITY BLANK stare. Mis posted this two weeks ago. It features a major change to Adversity scheduling. She specificly asks for responces. What does she get? Two responces. Both from people who showed for the events origanal time. So basicly, the people she turned the scedule upside down to help ignored her. Is it so hard to write a sentence saying Thanks? Or yes this is good for me? Or No this time doesn't work, how about this time instead?
To be honest, I have given up being upset when my co-workers don't do the jobs they are payed for, for the most part they are your typical minimum wage red-necks, with dilusions of grandur and self woth. When they act like lazy jerks, it's hard to get upset, because they are lazy jerks.
BUT, this community is fillied with wonderful, caring, amazing people who go far and beyond to help one another. We look after each other, we do our best to make sure everyone has fun. We help each other with their problems. A big example of that is the campain to get me a new computer. We are far better then what we are currently giving back to the community. We aren't lazy jerks, and that is why it hurts so much when we act like this. Come on guys, step back up to the plate and start swinging. Sure we are all busy, we all have problems, but please, find five minuites to say, "Yes Mis, this helps." Or even "Thank You". Our Leaders put an enormus amount of time, energy and money into keeping Adversity running. Trust me, even just saying Thank You goes a long way to letting them know that all that effort is apriciated.
In my opinion, Adversity is the best damn gamming comunity on the web, isn't it time we started acting like it again?

Dang, Truss! And thanks, Mis!
I didn't look at the new lineup very closely due to not playing CoH, but now that I do, I realize that it actually would work better for me when Freedom launches, or if I were to subscribe, as I tend (tend) not to be on until after 2 pm Central, and would thus typically miss early morning events.

Sorry Mis. I figured I'd look into the schedule once I have a gaming account again.
Now that doesn't mean I'm not thinking "Hey! Thanks for putting the effort in to this!"
Anyway, I agree with what Truss said about the group.
Truss, you have a gift! I don't think I've ever successfully been complimented and shamed in the same breath!

Sorry Truss, and Mis. I figured it was a done deal. Had no helpful opinion to give.

I have no opinion, as I am currently effectively inactive. I do not know when I will be able to play again, or what my schedule will be.

I have no opinion, as I am exclusively a non-MMO player at the moment. =) But, if I were playing CoX, this schedule looks awesome, Mis!

2 weeks into this new schedule change, I find overall this shuffle has led to more faces showing up to different games, which I greatly enjoy. Thankfully, the new evening event times thus far aren't suffering nearly like their morning counterparts were, and seem to be gathering a positive response thus far (with an exception now and then), which is great seeing as how most morning CoX times have been void of anyone signing in, or 2-3 members trying desperately to get others to join.
The nostalgic part of me misses Saturday/Sunday mornings in CoX, but our goal with this entire schedule shuffle was to help meet the needs of our community as a whole, and I totally support the idea of this new schedule change. I wanted to thank our members and leaders alike for having the courage to face down the blank stares and try something new/different. If you haven't guessed it by now, our leaders (and I'm sure our members as well) truly value coherent feedback (I do/don't like this and here's why). Feedback helps us figure out what we're doing right, what we're doing wrong, and how we can improve what we're doing for our community.

We've been running the new timeslot for 2 weekends now, and we're about to enter our 3rd week. I would really appreciate it if our members could taking a quick moment to Vote in Poll about how they like the changes thus far:
Summer CoH Timeslot Poll
And if you've got feedback for us, we'd love to hear it right here. If you don't like the new timeslot, tell us why! If you love it, let us know that too
Do you have a different suggestion for a timeslot? Post that here as well.
Your voice makes the difference - so let us know what you want, so that we as leaders can help build the community you want to be a part of

So far the new time slot works out fine for me. I'm doing a lot of fishing with my dad on Saturday mornings now, and having a Saturday night event works out just fine for me.
Either way it isn't going to make or break me if I happen to miss a weekend event

I voted for preferring the old timeslot. It just works better for me. Sat and Sun evening events have to compete with going to the movies, visiting friends and many other things. I love getting up on weekend mornings to join all of you for a few hours before the day begins. However, if the new timeframe means more people will attend, then I'm all for it, even if I can't attend as often. I think it's still to early to tell if the new timeslot is successful yet or not.

Mixed review myself.....
Saturday mornings were nice for me. The family usually didn't plan much for the morning, but it left the afternoon and evening free as Ant said. However, the nice weather usually keeps me out of CoX during the daylight Summer hours anyway, so it's hard to say if this schedule change will really affect me much until September.
I wasn't able to participate most Sundays because I'm the volunteer head of our Church's music, and even though the services are in the afternoon, I needed that time to prepare. 7EST (8PM where I am) may work better for me as Sunday is a long day and having a brain break at the end of the day may be nice. I'll let you know when NCSoft lets me play again.

Personally, I prefer the morning on Saturday and the evening on Sunday. I like ending the weekend teaming up but Saturday morning has less going on than Saturday night.

I'm weighing in only to say I'm weighing in. I really don't know what my gaming schedule is going to be now that I'm reunited with the family. Additionally, I don't have a solid date for the installation of my cable. So, I'm not going to vote in the poll, but wanted to explain why.

It's summer; as such, I am often out and about (particularly when the weather is as lovely as it has been) on the weekends.
That being said, I do like the new schedule when I have been around.

I'm back!
(@Hanna in the AdversitySG channel)
Unfortunately, these times are in conflict with the competitive L4D2 group I just joined. But really, that's probably fine. I will only probably be able to play two or three days at that time, and I can juggle between these two. Sometimes there aren't enough people in the competitive group to field a full versus game, as well. So, if I can be forgiven for being late to some events (and I don't expect people to wait for me, because I would be a full forty-five minutes to an hour late), and I' won't sign up for events that I will try to be playing with ProjectGSX Nightly Competitive group.
I'm going to miss those Super Saturday and Sinister Sunday mornings, though.
But it's all good, I'm sure there will be some restrictions on my being only a "Premium" member. So there will undoubtedly be some events I'll be unable to join, like the end-game stuff. None of which interests me any.
