Why McDonalds "food" doesn't go bad

So apparently McDonalds "food doesn't rot. Really, there is tons of proof. If it can survive literally for years on the shelf, what's it doing to your insides?
Next time Scam offers you a cannoli that doesn't seem quite so fresh I recommend asking him for a burger!

I don't think food does much to my insides since it doesn't spend much time inside me regardless of how long it would survive outside. The article itself says that:
All that means to me is it's less likely for my fast food to go rotten by the time I get around to eating it, which is all good news in my book.

In case you guys think I don't like anything - I like McDonald's.
Ultimately, says O’Keefe, the McDonald’s haters have gotten their science wrong. "The ingredients are similar to anything you’d see in processed fast food," he says. For better or for worse, McDonald’s is no more a chemical laboratory of secret compounds designed to embalm us from the inside than any other processed food maker. A Happy Meal manages to stay unspoiled because it is fatty, salty and practically empty of nutrients -- which, really, are all good reasons to avoid it anyway.

LMAO! That's the single funniest thing you've ever said.Well, considering its longevity is in question, I figured it was relevant
Though, to be honest, I wouldn't be opposed if food was able to preserve my insides from rotting.
