I got a Cataclysm Beta email this weekend (I get them about once a week).
I didn't click on any of the links in it, but I checked my account anyway. And it turned out, I'd actually been invited.
Weird, huh?

I got a few of these as well. I've also been getting emails about my non-existent WoW and Aion accounts. Just be careful gang, and NEVER click on any damn link in your e-mail

Wow. I had totally forgotten. I used to be one of those people who would ask people never to send me HTML email. Back then, they'd just laugh at say they couldn't send the really really important picture of that baby panda. Then somewhere's along the way HTML mail became the opt-out option. Before you know it, people were treating plain text like it was only a specialty for programmers and other propeller-heads.
Thanks for the good advice, Marq.
(And I can always white-list email from my mom to include those must-have pictures of my niece.)
