I was going to post this yesterday, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Let me just say I have purchased every single booster pack that has come out, but I will NOT be getting this.

I will get this pack, in part because so many people are raising up such a stink over it. I like to be contrary like that. Besides, I still value my /em stancevillain2 emote more than most things in Going Rogue.

I'm with Dragon, I own every costume/item pack available, even the stuff from the special editions of City of Heroes and City of Villains, but I'm skipping this pack for sure. I honestly have no ides WTF they were thinking

It took me getting two free superboosters (Cyborg and Martial Arts) to even actually buy a third (Science) and none of the are for the two origins I use the most (Mutant, Magic). So, I'll pass on this one without much fuss. Maybe some day in the far future when it's on sale at like $1 I'll get it. Instead, maybe I'll buy another super booster.

After reading through the first hundred responses in that thread this is my favorite:
$30 got me a new starting zone (1-20), the ability to finally move all my redside characters to blueside (worth the money right here), a few new powersets, some costumes and some emotes. Not bad. I would have liked more high level stuff but with the beginning of the Incarnate system due in the next issue I can hold out.
But this pack (announced 2 weeks after an expansion and released in 4 weeks) will cost me $8 for 8 emotes? I don't quite see the value proposition here. But maybe it's just me.
Edit Note: Originally said released 2 weeks after expansion.
I probably won't buy this, but your overreacting ALOT people, they just made a whole new expansion.

I have gotten every booster pack available thus far, but I don't think I'll be getting this one. I spend the majority of my time either in the costume creator, actually playing, or making adjustments to my base.
Don't get me wrong; some of those emotes sound pretty fun, but for $8 I think I'll pass.

I have a strict policy to "get everything," even stuff I don't actually need, or indeed want. The reason I have this policy has nothing to do with loyalty and everything to do with having the most stuff freely available at any given time, such that if inspiration strikes me, I will have the options to pursue it.
Again I bring up stancevillain2. This is one of four stance emotes I got with the Going Rogue Booster Pack for $6, and it's pretty much the only one I care to use. However, I liked that one emote so much that I bound it to a key and have used it on every character I have made since. Maybe I'm biassed, but it seems to fit all of them. Or maybe I just prefer the kind of characters that would fit it.
Who knows? Having a bunch of dance or sports emotes might one day inspire me to make something radically out of my comfort zone (not being fan of either), and considering I just blew $20 for slots enough to reserve the names I posted about in that other thread, $8 isn't going to scare the pants off me. I can skip lunch for a week and make that up, which I'll probably end up doing anyway.

Are you sure you're not American?Globalization at it's finest! The only problem with globalization as a means for world domination is that by exporting our culture and outsourcing our industrial production soon we'll be the poor ones.

Half-humorous statements aside, I'm not saying that this pack won't be valuable to a segment of the players. But as a person who was reluctant to purchase a booster pack in the first place, the Party Pack certainly doesn't make me want to buy any more extras.

I think what surprised me the most is that quite a few people (at least in the first two pages because that's all I could take) said that even though they didn't want/like/need the pack, they would buy it to support the game. That goes against all my economic logic because if you keep buying it, no matter the reason, they'll keep doing it.

sarcasm. :)
What does this word mean?
Ember: I posted pretty much that comment in the official forums... somewhere around page 12 I think. So I agree with you 100%
I makes no sense to buy crap like this.
I am also very happy that the development team has fixed all the QoL issues that are around.
UGH... pass.

Are you sure you're not American? As long as I can afford it, I see no reason not to. This is my one and only hobby, after all. Well, my one and only hobby that costs money, anyway.

Um... Yeah.....
The first thing I thought of when I read the title was "City of Sims".
I'll definitely be looking very hard at buying a booster pack. Mind you, it will be the Mutant pack, but still....

I dare say it probably is. People have been claiming they'd pay $20 for a few emotes and now it seems like Marketing are out to make them eat their words

True there has been people that have claimed that. Multiple times. Usually the same 30 people. Much like the PVP threads are dominated by 15 people.

That's kind of what my approach is to these things. For instance, the only reason I got the Valkyrie pack was for the boots

OK, so I've had some time to think about it and I think I've finally figured out why this booster pack is such a huge disappointment to me. I'm thinking of posting this on the official forums, but they are so filled with asshattery that I thought I would post here first.
As I have already stated, I will be completely skipping this booster. I have purchased every single booster pack I could lay my hands on in the past. Some I have preferred more than others. Some I use extremely rarely. But they all had one thing in common. I felt that they were all quality products.
Going Rogue is without a doubt (IMO) the best work Paragon Studios has done to date. I would have a hard time coming up with something from the expansion that I didn't like. It has completely drawn me back into the game and I am excited about playing again.
So with that being said, it is a huge disappointment to me that they would back track so far and follow that up with an emote pack. This is NOT the quality that I expect from Paragon Studios. I know what they can do. I fully expected, after such a huge success like Going Rogue, that the next booster pack would completely blow me away. Instead I'm being handed a set of emotes wrapped up in a shiny CoH package and I'm expected to pay $8 for it.
As far as I'm concerned, they had the chance to continue the success they have achieved with Going Rogue and put out another quality product that would "wow" me. Instead, they decided that they would rest on their laurels and put out something that is completely mediocre at best.

I am conflicted. It's a huge rip-off, but my new Praetorian, PowerChord, really really needs this effin' emote..
