These Captains begin with the Dumb Luck trait (40% increase in susceptibility to placate and confuse powers, 20% percent increase in susceptibility to holds, 6% increase in Critical frequency). They may choose three additional traits. Note: Purchase of this option unlocks it for every character slot on an account.

I got a chance to play with the injury system and I have to say I'm impressed.
They really did a good job of making it more immersive than 'death penalties' in other games.
As an example, CoH makes it harder to gain XP if you are 'incappacitated'. In real life, however, I usually try to learn from my mistakes. big grin

Instead of gear wear or XP effects, the injury system applies minor debuffs to your character or ship if you have to respawn. In my case, I got a -2% resist to physical and kinetic damage on my captain. What I thought was cool was it was called 'Bruised Ribs'! So basically my captain got the crap beat out of him and came back into the mission a little sore. Sure he's going to have a minor issue with physical damage. He just got beat up! laughing

Just a warning, I do find some of the ground enemies a bit too strong on Advanced difficulty. (They currently have Normal, Advanced, and Elite settings). For instance, out of 5 encounters with the Borg I had to respawn once, but the Vito'd consistandly killed me before I could do much. This was been noted in the feedback sections of the official STO forums though.
