Exigency Fleet Night #7: KDF Take 2
Submitted by CT on March 18, 2010 - 10:09pm
Join us as we take to the red side of Star Trek Online and kick some Federation rear.
We'll make sure everyone is up to speed and then take the PvP zones and queues.
To participate, you'll need to have Klingon Defense Force character which can be unlocked after achieving Lieutenant Grade 6 on a Federation character.

FYI, I quickly thrw together a couple of STO fleet badges or insignia. Very crude, but a starting point. Anyone want to add, change or critique? Just a paint sketch for the fleet to look at.

I will try to be on to form the team. My Klingon will have to be invited to the Fleet, though, as he was rerolled after outleveling the group. He's now lvl 7 again.
Also, if you remember, my wife and I took a teen in over the summer and fall. She was told to move back in to her parents place over New Year, but then turned 16 shortly after. At that point she chose to move out again. Things didn't work out where she was. She called me Monday to ask if she could stay with us again and she's moving in tonight.
If that gets in the way of Fleet night at all I will log in long enough to let you guys know the situation.
Thanks in advance for understanding.

And what a courageous Klingon Defense Force evening it was. The halls of Kahless will be singing our praises as we took out 3 Jupiter Class Whales of the Federation. Joining us were:
Peregrin
Blue Insector
Pax
Chargex
War Griffon
Muffinman

All of these pictures have also been added to the STO Online Image Gallery
Thanks to all who helped me get my Klingon out of the tutorial. Muffinman joined us near the end of the evening and a few members of the fleet resumed some Federation Activities. See you all next week!

Thanks Griff.
Things worked out. She was moved in by the time I got home from work, and since Fleet Night doesn't start until 9 my time I was able to sit down and chat with her a bit about her last living arrangements, etc.

So.... What Pax didn't mention is that in true Adverstiy form, we managed to die repeatedly after somehow aggroing the entire space map!!!
Those first screen shots of his are of the Jupiter class Dreadnaught.
However, at the center of those pretty explosions with all of the phasers converging is one of our Birds of Prey!
We had a lot of fun and advanced our KDF characters, so for us it really was a good day to die!
Q'apla!

I posted a couple screenies to the Image Gallery. For soemreason it would not let me post here....Pax(read that as if Marq was saying Truss)....but I was able to post in gallery. I changed over to Fed side and stayed on the fringe of the higher level guys and got an awesome picture of the "Badlands"(my little ship heading towards the moon to converge with the group).
All I can say, WOW!

Shaak these are "Typical" of this game. Visually this is amazing. The UI is a little tough to get, but the feel is fantastic. I think I might invest in some kind of controller, or change the binds on my keyboard. The movement is a little different from CoH. I have some trouble remembering which way is which and that this is 3D is a little confusing, as well.

All I've done is change the movement keys in Ground mode and I'm fine.
I've mapped QWEASD the same as CoH and the R button to sprint.

I'll have to figure out how to do that one of these days. Just been lazy..... gets me killed every now and again.
