3. Your first character was: Queimada (now known as Labareda), a fire/fire blaster that I created during the 2004 Halloween event. I thought those trick or treat doors were all there was to the game! After a couple of days I discovered missions...

4. Favorite AT: I like corruptors, nothing like a good mix of attack and support powers.

5. How did you find us: I used to team with Silver Dawn. He helped me throught my first cape mission and one night he invited me to join an Adversity team. I remember Pax and SB were there, maybe Radio. After playing with them for two or three hours and having a great time, I was invited to join and never left.

6. When did you join: December 2004.

7. What other games do you play: CoX is my first MMO, but I played many games since the 80s. Right now, I play Hattrick, an internet soccer manager and, when a new version is released, Football Manager, another soccer manager.

8. A good CoX story: Adversity was running a task force and I was exemplared. Back then, we didn't have the auto-exemplar feature so you had to exemplar to someone and if that person disconnected you were kicked from the team. During the third mission, after an hour playing, my partner lost the connection and I was kicked. We didn't run TFs frequently and the team decided to restart it so I could rejoin. It was a great gesture that I won't forget.

9. If you want, tell us a bit about yourself: I live with my girlfriend in São Paulo (Brazil) and own a very small game company focused on the cell phone market. We have a soccer game and we are working on a city building game atm. Besides computer games I like D&D RPG, comics, movies and soccer.

When the first trial was released he send me and i am playing since then. My Main server is Freedom, i have 4 lvl 50 heros there and no slots left, ah Shaaktar was my first 50 too.

4. Favorite AT: I think i like all, but Scrappers and controllers are the top of the list

5. How did you find us: I am not sure, but i think Magia invited players to play on pinnacle on the orkut (CoH Brazilian Communitie).

6. When did you join: on 2006 probably on the first semester

7. What other games do you play: This is my first MMO, played the trial o DDO too. I Play travian an strategy game on html.

8. A good CoX story: Too many fun stories out there, and i hope to have many more, when i remember a GOOD one to put here, i will.

9. If you want, tell us a bit about yourself: I am Engineer, work with gas pipeline and sometimes in shifts that is why it is hard for me to play on same hour and day from week to another. I am Married have a little son (1 year and 5 months today) and that is also why sometimes i go afk during gameplay (he is giving me a lot of work).
I am simply addicted to games, and love to Play RPG, D20 system, Rolemaster and others. Now that i am playing more on Pinnacle i hope to get to know u guys better.

5. How did you find us: Ran into several people while leveling up my Mastermind. Really enjoyed the groups with the various players.

6. When did you join: Durr last year or early this year. Will have to check join date on Nano.

7. What other games do you play: LotR online, some WOW, Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, some Xbox games. Been playing MMOs since Everquest came out basically. Have played EQ, EQ2 (a little), Asheron's Call and DAOC.

8. A good CoX story: Too many to retell or pick. I do play my toons hard and aggressive. I tend to scare people with my aggressiveness. From that thought I do get some really fun times.

Currently in Indiana, originally from Ohio.


Jayyde I or Jayyde II depending on which account you catch me on.


Jayyde a BS/SR scrap that I made and got to a painful 25 since at the time I wasn't aware of the existence of Stamina. Ouch. Deleted after I switched to Illustrelle, and Illusion/Emp that I ended up liking so much more that she became my first 50.


I'm torn between scrappers and controllers hero side, and have to go with masterminds villain side. I do like my pet sets.


Mostly the Pinnacle SG list thread on the boards. Once I accepted that I was in a dying SG, I'd been looking at the groups in there for about a month. I actually recognized the old site from finding it a few times before that. Being a total nerd, the site hooked me. Plus the forums were active, which I take as a sign of overall activity -- I was immediately ignoring any groups that didn't have active websites. Teamed with Mags, joined the global channel, and never looked back.


May 2007 or somewhere around there.


CoH was my first MMO (co-workers actually had to harass me for months to get over the pay-to-play aversion), but I did play a few others over my hiatus: Anarchy-Online, Knights Online, Guild Wars, Auto Assault, and GunZ: The Duel. Other than that I'm addicted to anything Elder Scrolls. Like a junky I'll go back to a bunch of my other games that fill up my 2-in binder when I feel the urge, but those are my big ones.


There are so many! Team Boob will always hold a special place in my heart. I definitely have a great time any time a bunch of us get on vent together, man, we're a rowdy bunch.


Hmm... Well, like I said, I live in Indianapolis,IN atm working as a web developer. It's a job that inspires jealousy in people like Dragon ( ) since it lets me work from home and therefore spend a lot more time in the game than most. Other than that, I'm a huge movie addict, am one of those crazed Ohio State Buckeye people, and am genarlly happliy into nerdy things like Star Wars and Voltron.

3. Your first character was: A Kin/Psy Defender. Lasted until lvl 22. I figured since I'm more supportive than violent in RL and in other games that a defender was right up my alley.... boy was I wrong! Give me DPS or give me death! (In the case of my blaster that would be, "Give me DPS and give me death!")

4. Favorite AT: Blaster/Scrapper/Dominator/Brute - DPS and control (even my main blaster has 3 holds.)

5. How did you find us: CoH Forums... I was looking for a SG on Pinnacle to motivate me to level up some characters that were there after my SG on Justice semi imploded.

6. When did you join: Started playing CoH just after I3 hit live. I remembered thinking it was cool to see hordes of Council and 5th Column soldiers fighting each other in Atlas Park, even though I didn't have a clue who the factions were.

7. What other games do you play: Right now, on the computer, Lord of the Rings Online. Nimrodel server, all 5 slots full.

8. A good CoX story: My first big PvP event with the group. We ran around for a couple of hours going back and forth in Siren's call. I was using my Elec/Elec blaster with Combat Jumping as my only defense, so I was being fairly cautious and still expecting to get pummeled. As I got more comfortable I found myself in the middle of large meely. I heard a power charging behind me and found myself on the recieving end of an Electric Brute's big hit. He miraculously missed and I didn't give him a chance to try again. I'm still amazed that a little defenseless blaster took out a Brute that quickly in hand to hand......

9. If you want, tell us a bit about yourself: I live with my wife and 3 kids (2 boys 4 and 6, and a new little girl). This year I became an Elder (leadership board) of our church. I am a musician and play guitar or bass most Sundays. I dispatch for a sizable cable, phone, and internet provider, and I really do enjoy long walks on nice beaches.

5. How did you find us: Well my best friend and current roommate RadioAffliction told me he was playing and I joined up immediately. My other roommate was the first person other than Radio that I teamed with in CoH and his name happens to be Orion Pax. (I can name drop quite a bit here Irish Red, Manga Slate, Hydro Dragon, Qwizats Haderach, Shadow-Burn and I'm sure there are many others that I'm forgetting.)

6. When did you join: Hrm, must've been around March 2005? Maybe a little earlier or a little later. I don't really remember.

7. What other games do you play: Xbox 360 and Wii at the moment. Though I've tried my hand at almost every MMO since CoH. SWG, MxO, DDO, L2, FFXI and a lot of others.

8. A good CoX story: I can't recall them all. But most of them involve me and empath and utter destruction of players and mobs alike.

9. If you want, tell us a bit about yourself: Well I'm a college student in Gainesville. Though you really wouldn't be able to tell because I enroll mostly in online classes. This allows me to work as an application and web programmer. Professionally I'm using VB.NET (not my choice) and MS SQL and Access for a patient database suite. I also use Drupal, PHP and MySQL to run my fraternity's chapter website with a big assist from Pax. Finally as a hobby I'm learning more of the inner workings of Objective-C so that I can write a member database program customized for fraternity needs. All in all programming and computers consume my life, but I love baseball and frisbee and my fraternity (which is what started me in CoH in the first place).

5. How did you find us: Mags found this little orphaned bastid on the streets of Atlas (or was it sharkshead, old age i forget) and said hey want to join an sg.. my reply... whats an sg? i've been Adversity's hetero life partner ever since (hiatus be damned!!)

A good CoX story: one time it was me, mags 12600, i think razorstrike were playing a crazy COT mish. 12 had gotten at least 100k in debt and mags walks in and vives him and debuffs the AV until we took him out... after that we spread the rumor Mags worked for Cryptic because he made it look so easy. so many good times in this SG.... we rule

If you want, tell us a bit about yourself: fine wine, fine woman, fine foods. anytime you sg members want to rock out in NYC let OD know. 31 married in August (thus my hiatus from the game) my wife is from Poland so no chance in getting her to play so now i dodge wife aggro by using rise of the phoenix on my dead corpse.

4. Favorite AT: Scrappers. Laser eye beams, flaming pets, and illusions are nice and all, but there's still something to be said for kicking someone right in the face.

5. How did you find us: Just like Jayyde and Peregrin, I was a supergroup orphan in search of a home when Mags found me on the CoH forums. And I was so lucky he did, because at that point the only serious offer I'd had was from Jagged Legion, and I'd honestly rather eat my left arm.

6. When did you join: April, 2006

7. What other games do you play: Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2, Call of Duty 4, and a couple of the EA Sports franchises. I've never been much of a gamer, so I tend to find games I like and stick with them for a long time.

8. A good CoX story: I agree with Jayyde on Team Boob and the fun Ventrilo sessions, though I haven't been able to do that much lately. I guess my favorite stories go way back to CoH launch when I was a newb and all the silly mistakes I made that seem funny now (like slotting Sprint) but really sucked at the time cuz you couldn't respec. Or our CoH vs CoV PvP match where us heroes got stomped like Michael Richards at the Million Man March.

If you want, tell us a bit about yourself: Professionally, I'm an odd mix as a government network architect and a partner in a gourmet chocolate business where I work as someone who pretends to know things about chocolate. I enjoy sunsets and long walks on the beach, and my turn-offs include bad drivers, the half hour it takes to open a new DVD, Michael Moore, tumors, losing my keys, and message board questionnaires.

And Nano, I think the first time we met you was during a respec trial, villain side. I remember that we had a spot and I thought: "Let's find someone to run it with a full team..."

3. Your first character was: Delthanes, a Kat/Regen scrapper. I continually just rolled alts untill CoV launched and then I made my namesake BenoHawk, a Nin/Regen stalker. Who I hate with every fiber of my being.

5. How did you find us: Mags was recruiting in Mercy at the same time I was.

And he was claiming incorrect information so I corrected him in tells we later formed a coaliton between our VGs. This started a friendship/rivalery that has lasted to this day.

6. When did you join: After the Hero wing of my VG turned out to be a huge flop, we abandoned it and our SG members all joined adversity.

A good CoX story: Well Teamed with Spiked, Jayyde, and one other whose name escapes me at the moment >.>;; I started avoiding giving Spiked AM, firing it off close enough to get everyone else in the group but not him. I also managed to do it one time when he was standing close enough that it should of hit him. Good times.

7. What other games do you play: At the moment, nothing. I'm kind of a one-game-at-a-time person. I do have two accounts active in Eve Online and a Guildwars account. I also have Elder Scrolls: Oblivion and Vampire - The Masquerade: Bloodlines but I never play single player games anymore. I'm very much into playing RPG-type games. I played Diablo II and Neverwinter Nights for around two years each.

8. A good CoX story: None really, I tend to solo a lot.

9. If you want, tell us a bit about yourself: Not much to tell really. I'm 26, male and I work at a sawmill here trying to save up enough to correct some rather poor decisions I made when I was younger and to go to university. I'm undecided if I want to go in for teaching or something to do with computer graphics instead.

3. Your First Character: My very first character (and he was my first by only 3 hours (yes that's how quickly altitus set in for me (sad if you think about it.))) was a fire/fire blaster called Quik-Fire on Guardian Server. He's not even lvl 32

4. Favorite AT: Way too hard to say. I've had fun playing every AT on heroside, and I'm currently enjoying my Corr and Brute on V side.

5. How did you find us: I too was a boards poster, and I got a PM from Mags. I checked out the site, etc. made some cheese comments, and bang, here we are.

6. When did you join: May 2004 (Sean Sprint was my first focussed toon MA/Regen, and I still have fond memories of Storm Kick being the "Smell meh feet!!!" power ) I joined Adversity on 2-28-2008.

7. What other games do you play: Recently I've gotten sucked into Portal (holy Crap I love that concept) and when I need to shoot something in the face, I load up 19 bots in CS:Source and go to town. M4A, Deagle, and smokes FTW.

8. A good CoX story: Last summer I revived a Superteam concept built around Sonic/Elec, FF/Elec, and Kin/Elec defenders. This concept was originally conceived by TopDoc in 2004-2005. He called the team "The TankMages" and I did the same. Using stacked bubbles and rings, and leadership we had defenders with defense and resistance higher then granite tankers. With FS from the kins, we lived at the damage cap. 4 instances of SB meant we had AoEs up all the time. We would simply TTP from group to group keeping each other buffed. The best time I had leading this group was when I was the "driver" the one who TTPed. We got 2 PuG /kin trollers on the team. I was 29, with two more 29s and 4 27s. We entered the "eternal battle" mission in Croatoa, set to Invincible. The Tuatha were spawning as 31s, so nice and purple for the 27s. After we buffed up, I sent out a "TTP in Progress!" and TTPed into a group with 4 bosses. No one dropped below 85% health. Both PuGers complained that we were all going to die, and that we were just "lucky" on the first group. After 3 groups of no real damage, one just couldn't take the pressure and left. I did make a convert out of the other though

9. Tell us a bit about yourself: I'm 27, and have been teaching 7th grade science for 5 years. My wife, who plays CoH occasionally is also a 7th grade teacher, teaching Math (yep my future kids are doomed to geek-dom...) ATM, We live in our home in Guilford with our two Neewees (translation: Cats). I also am the leader of the Middle School Youth Group at our local Church (yes, I see 12 year-olds 6 days a week :smoke: ).

5. How did you find us: Muffnman found me, I was superspeeding through the bridge towards Terra Volta and Muffnman sent me a tell to do a respec. This was my first real team on the character and he said he was thinking of forming a sg soon, so I got in, and then the MPA merged with Adversity when Sturm was 37, some time ago.

6. When did you join: Can't remember the date of the MPA merge, started the game in January of '05 though

7. What other games do you play: World of Warcraft, that I played during my hiatus. Met lots of great people there, but got tired of the game and went back to my first love.

8. A good CoX story: I'm a scrapper, so anything that starts with "Watch this!" is a good story for me

9. If you want, tell us a bit about yourself: I'm a biochemist, I work crappy hours in a lab cause I'm new there. I am crazy about languages, I speak a few already and am learning more, but it's never enough. I am also an avid music fanatic, listening to a very wide variety of things, from electronica to rock, from industrial to folk, and much more. I'm 27, no wife, no kids, one cat, one dog (my roommate's). That's about it. Oh yeah, I do not enjoy long walks on the beach, really, I'm more of a long walks in the city kind of guy.

Aurora Girl, Energy/Energy blaster. I made her a terrible costume in our college's colors (orange/black), until I realized the Energy powers are blue. She's been in a blue costume and permadebt ever since.

5. How did you find us:

I ended up teaming with Pax on PK one day, and I had just left the 1st supergroup I'd ever joined because of inactivity, and God bless it, I'm still around.

Erm...I don't know...I joined CoH in January '05 during the first WL event...so I'd say I joined Adversity in March of that year?

7. What other games do you play:

Tried WoW with a Navy buddy of mine for a whiule, but we both came back to CoX. I have a 360 and LOVE Rock Band, I've been known to dablle in Smash Borthers, Zelda, and Diablo from time to time.

8. A good CoX story:

Soooooooooooo many. Farming Hydras for l33t xp when CT rerolled his main because he realized /fire blasters were awful...dinging 50 on AG while I was dead on the AV mission...I forget her name, the one in the graveyard that runs around everywhere.

Let's see...my first Eden trial. That was unreal. It's so much more massive than anything else in the entire game. I still get a sense of awe when I enter the Spire.

My first Hami raid. My first Halloween costume contest. Being a part of the Pinnacle/Adversity community is one of the greatest gaming experiences of my life.

9. If you want, tell us a bit about yourself:

I'm 23, in the Navy, and happily married. My job sucks, the pay is crap, and I've yet to discover the supposed "benefits" of government service. I appreciate the support for the troops and all, but all I do is take pretty pictures and write propaganda stories. I'm really not helping with terrorism, I swear. Save your laurels for the Marines.

Oh, and I wish I was half as cool as Razor's right big toe.
