Issue 15: Anniversary Live!
June 29, 2009 - 11:20am
Ok, so maybe the servers are not totally up and playable at this particular instance, but that hasn't stopped Paragon Studios from officially announcing the live release of I15 for today.
So if you can't log on cause you're stuck at work or if you're waiting to finish patching up to get on, take a few minutes and read the patch notes.

Is there a set time that it starts? I didn't see that mentioned, but I tend to miss stuff that is right in front of my nose all the time....

Is there a time what starts? The new issue was patched this morning and is currently live on the servers.

That answers my question - though I kind of figured that might be the case.
I'm at work and living vicariously through all of you until I can fix my internet woes.

Crap on a cracker!
I'm in a meeting sitting next to a human resources generalist sneaking looks at the forum on my Blackberry. Most days I leave early without much trouble, but not today. I'll likely be home later than usual.
Plus the coffee has worn off.

I'm disappointed, but mostly with my performance challenged laptop that is still booting me out from time to time.
Granted I'm no techy, but I suspect my pathetic graphics card is just not good enough. I will have to bite the bullet and get a real gaming computer, "man, I'm a tightwad".
Oh well, its just money.
Rerolled my character on Pinnacle last night and did a few missions. Perhaps I'll run into you guys during one of my brief moments before the system blows me out of server.

only members can complain about stuff on our forums Grif

Can I read them?
Or is that reserved for members only too?
I do have an old members only jacket from the 80's - if I'm wearing that while posting does it count?

No worries Griffon, hopefully you'll be able to solve your tech woes and get in the game to hang out with us soon. What lappy are you running anyways? Maybe some of our techno-geeks can point you in the right direction...

One caveat is that anyone can complain about Omni.

In case any of you haven't seen this little video, check out this quick one minute Issue 15 Trailer.
Honestly, I think Marq, myself, and some of our more animated members could easily provide some fun voiceovers for these style of movies, and create something much more epic, or at least more thrilling

Me online gamingDell Inspiron 1525, Intel dual core 160Gb HD, 3GB Ram, "pathetic" Intel Graphics Media Accel. x3100(The problem, I think)

I will probably have to retake my desktop back from my "adult" kids who haven't left the nest yet.
And update it to run online.Unless you techys have a better solution?

Yeah, integrated graphics are chock full of suck when it comes to playing CoH. You can possibly get by with turning down the graphics to the bare minimum to start and then tweak to see what can be adjusted so that visuals don't suck too much. But I think taking back the desktop is the better way to go, as long as it has a separate graphics card in it.

Yeah, I'm at work right now and can't get at it, but I will need to see how badly they have loaded it with issues from facebook/myspace. Should be a nice weekend project.

That's impressive Razer. How does one "blow up" a video card?
I was looking at your artwork - Veerrry Niicce!! You are quite the artiste.

Yeah Griffon, the X3100 is about the lowest card CoX will support. Try snagging newer drivers from the Dell website, that should help a little bit. Also, I know the window will be smaller, but try running the game on lower quality settings like Razor said, and then run the game resolution (selected within the game's graphic options once logged in) at either 1280x800 (might show 1280x768) or 1024x768. While the 1024 setting will look a little stretched, it should play better for you.
I know my old lappy, a Dell Inspiron e1505 (ATI X1400, 128MB dedicated, 128 gankable from shared RAM) could run the game, but not at it's native resolution of 1680x1050. Dropping the in-game details to medium, and dropping my resolution a step down to 1440x900 helped a ton. Mind you, when you launch the game and it starts loading that blue/red CoX splash screen, your screen will flicker as it adjusts your resolution to the smaller size, but after that, it should run smoother.
Hopefully that helps out a bit

You guys are hilarious! That's twice the computer my tower is and about the same as my laptop. 1024 Pax? I'm running mine at 800*600! Gameplay is great, but the graphics remind me of the original Play Station.

You have no idea.
At least the audio card is good. It would drive me nuts to have to play CoH to the original Mario Bros tune, or something similar.

Well I tried on 1024, but still had an issue. Went to 800 X 600 and it seems to be more stable. I played a couple hours Sat. (grind from 5 lvl to 10 lvl)
No recorded issue as of yet.
Thanks again for your help - consider any dues owed to be x2(not to you FX - Pax or Razor).
Nice try FX!!
P.S. I'll be working Graveyard this week, so you may see me prowling the site at all hours - maybe I'll talk at you Kiwi.
