In ancient times, one of the gods within the Mu pantheon left earth and sought a new world where he could live in a more peaceful existence. The god traveled to a harsh arctic wasteland of a world, thinking this would be a last place he would be bothered.

The god nurtured the native lifeforms and over time some evolved into a more humanoid form. These creatures were taught magic originally as a means of protection against the elements by becoming immune to the cold and able to use ice to protect their bodies. These creatures were also allowed to freely practice their gifts, until magic became a part of the inhabitants and each new born was imbued with magical abilities.

One of these newborns had the ability to see others' deepest fears and either remove them or greatly magnify those fears. The other beings grew concerned over these abilities and what result they could have, and decided to use the child as a weapon against any foes.

As the child grew up, he became increasingly angered to be viewed as a weapon and decided to take matters into his own hands and leave his home world and figure out his own destiny.
