The Official City of Heroes website now has full details on the upcoming 51 Months and 54 Months Veteran Rewards.

I don't find myself overly impressed with them, but what do you all think?

Yeah, not really impressed. I guess if someone had a burning desire for one of those helmets, then they'll be all set after just over 4 years.. wink

The 54 month one is just a retread of previous bonuses.

Yeah, kind of disappointing.

Color me disappointed. I'm sorry to see the helmets so far out, but I'm glad to see they included them as I know they have been highly requested on the boards. The 54 month reward seems kind of lame. It doesn't seem to me that they put any thought or effort into it at all. There are plenty of other temp powers they could have chosen. I was really hoping for the Rune of Warding at some point.

At least they are better than the 45 month reward which is just a respec and a badge. I hope that if they aren't going to do the Vet Rewards as anything but an after-thought that they cap them off soon.

I don't think they are running out of ideas as I could swear there was a dev comment that they had the rewards already planned out for several years.

It would be great if every vet reward was some new item, but then that makes the more currently unique rewards less special.


I've been bummed out with things like the Greek letters, but in this case I will gladly take another good damaging attack power (especially ranged ones for my melee characters).




As for the Rune of Warding - I don't understand why people want it. Sure it might look nice, but it's pretty crappy unless you plan on fighting the baddies in Croatoa all the time.

I'm kinda sad that they didn't take that opportunity to update the pix of the Black Wand. It definitely doesn't look like that Kingdom Hearts Donald Duck staff anymore.

Sweet! I love the new (old) helmets. I finally won't be stuck with the piece of junk I got at best buy.

Next vet rewards: Prestige Power Slide, temp jump pack, and all the anniversary badges the character wasn't around to get!

I don't mind it. The helmets certainly aren't the worst costume option we've gotten (I think Razor nailed it with the Greek letters), and having another freebie power is great for lowbies and any toon later in the game with any kind of +ACC.

I'm just wondering if they're doing anything about the origin damage bonuses. I've always taken the staff that lined up with the bonus, so I guess I'll be taking the other one now, without the bonus. Drag.

Attacks that don't require using a power pick to get is pretty much win to me. It's a bit unimaginative to me, but I don't mind it that much.

As for the helmets.... meh. I never use helmets on any character I make. I suppose there are some people that will like it though.

I agree that these Attacks will help.

but they could also give something that is worth, like a token rename or charcter transfer, these would be much more appreciated in my humble opinion.

Except those items are bought with money typically, so giving them out to players is a big deal and as a result those types of things should and are reserved for more important months such as getting a new character slot for each year played.

I know Razor, but we are talking about 50 Months paying to get one of this, i dont think it is a big deal for them to throw one to the customers

So after 50 months you want a free rename or transfer? If you need one, why would you wait that long for one? I would imagine somewhere between that time period a person could come up with the 10 bucks to pay for one or the other. If the transfer was needed to free up spots, after playing for 50 months, a player could have up to 6 free slots...so then the space issue isn't really an issue.
