Cuì Jiāo (焠姣), better known as the superhero Chilling Temper (or CT to his friends), is a member of the prominent super-powered Cuì family.

Affiliations
Jiāo is the Vice President of American Operations for Cuì United Industries. CUI is a family owned and run British corporation operating in London, Hong Kong, San Francisco and Paragon City. His primary responsibilities include operations management, research and development and military contracting.

Jiāo also works as a consultant for Adversity Risk Assessment Group. He has planned and led several tactical assaults on various villain groups.

Personality
Jiāo is a generally laid back individual and often seems distant. This is often perceived as a defense against attachments due to past tragedy. He, in fact, cares deeply for his family and close friends and uses the distance as a buffer to protect them from himself and his temper.

Jiāo is a fairly private individual despite constantly being in the spotlight due to his position with his family's company and his constant presence battling villains and in particular the Rikti.

Powers and Abilities
Members of the Cuì family manifest two particular genetic mutations. The first mutation results in the formation of an additional organ not unlike a battery. The second mutation is a small mutation in the brain that allows them to manipulate energy in and around them.

Jiāo must draw energy from other sources to charge his "battery". He accomplishes this by drawing thermal energy from gaseous water molecules which causes them to desubliminate into ice. He has shown the ability to creatively discharge his stored energy in various ways. This is primarily done by propelling the newly formed ice through the air at targets. He can also propel himself through the air in a flight-like manner. Jiāo has advanced training in hand-to-hand combat. When engaged in melee fights, he will channel stored energy through his hands to increase their concussive force.

Jiāo is a quick thinker and can adapt to changing combat conditions. While not always leading tactical strike teams, he will often assist by processing threat assessments and assigning targets.

Weaknesses and Limitations
While Jiāo can draw energy from other sources he has difficulty doing so and it is a strenuous task. When his "battery" is depleted, he is generally unable to continue in combat and may only be able to fly as an escape.

Early Life
Cuì Jiāo was born in Hong Kong, China on October 24, 1984 to Cuì Jīn, a prominent business executive, and Lì Méi, a university professor. Jiāo is the eldest of five children, all super-powered mutants. His genetic mutation was diagnosed at birth.
