Sylver Touch

While traveling to the university, Laurie and her twin sister, Maria, was attacked by members of the gang known as the Lost. As the Lost took advantage of the twin sisters, the mutant abilities of Maria erupted, bathing everyone in intense radioactive heat. The Lost who survived fled, leaving the twin sisters and their fallen comrades behind.

Both Laurie and Maria were so badly hurt by the radiation that they were "recruited" into a new project by Dr. Bright of the Paragon City Government. Their bodies were fused with advanced robotic parts.

Unfortunately the twin sisters took to their new bodies in drastically different ways. Maria became unhinged and went on a killing spree. She was ultimately sentenced to a mental hospital after being captured by the Manticore and her own sister (operating as Sylver Touch).

Maria managed to escape from custody and has since gone underground. Laurie, though semi-retired, still operates as Sylver Touch when called, even as she searches for her sister.
