Black Hemlock is a stranger stuck in a strange world…at least to him. While he looks human, Black Hemlock is actually a humanoid plant. In his home dimension, plants became the dominant life form and took a similar evolutionary path to the animals of Primal Earth.

Black Hemlock’s home dimension was discovered by Nemesis, in his conquest to conquer all Earths. Nemesis quickly overtook the planet and quickly began to reshape it in his image…despite the best efforts of the local citizens to fight off Nemesis and his armies.

Black Hemlock stowed away in a return shipment to Primal Earth, where he was able to shut down the dimensional rift and prevent anyone from invading his home. However, this left Black Hemlock stranded on Primal Earth, where he seeks vengeance upon all inhabitants for what happened to his home dimension.
