Auster, in ancient Rome, was the god of the south wind. He was known and feared for destroying crops with his drying, hot winds.

At an ancient temple to the wind gods, a young man found the altar dedicated to Auster. He began investigating it, examining the various carvings on the altar. A small door opened on the altar and within it was an ornately decorated statue.

As the young man picked up the statue, a wind blew into the temple - startling him...causing him to drop the statue. The statue hit the ground and shattered, releasing an oddly colored cloud of smoke that wafted around the man.

The wind appeared again and swirled around him, becoming almost violent...and then it suddenly stopped. The young man found himself transformed, becoming the wind god Auster...out for vengeance for being trapped away for thousands of years.
