The Sun-Runner unit is an experimental AI construct designed to aid super powered beings in high risk situations where there is the potential for loss of life.

Over time the AI has become self aware and started to exert a basic personality and desires. One of those such desires is to be more proactive in helping super powered beings on a normal basis, rather than simply high risk situations.

The AI developers have allowed the Sun-Runner unit to pursue these interest and desires, as a bit of an experiment - to see how the unit continues to develop and adapt and how that might be applied to future projects.
