Once known as Eternal Wildfire, the pure flame given human form, the entity was content with an existence as a hero.

That lasted until members of the Carnival of Light came to Primal Earth seeking help back on Praetorian Earth. Eternal Wildfire felt a kinship with the soldiers of the light, as he called them, and their desire to "clean up the myriad evils left behind". In doing so, he shed his current appearance and name and took up the identity of a Carnival of Light member and the new name Apeliotus.
