On March 8th, 2008, a horrific storm hit the province of Quebec in Canada. Roger Dupuis was trying to return home with his daughter when there car hit a patch of black ice and spun off the road. Miles away from civilization, they had to walk out in the blizzard in order to get some help. It was extremely cold and Julie, Roger's daughter, was having trouble moving on. She was growing tired but Roger kept pushing her forward as the storm grew more violent. At one point the snow had piled up so much on the power lines bordering the street they were walking on that the line collapsed and was heading towards Julie. In a desperate attempt to save her, Roger pushed her away but as a consequence, took the electrical shock directly. He passed out..........

....when he woke up, he found Julie lying next to him, frozen and dead. She had stayed by his side all this time After grieving for hours, he soon realized that he couldn't feel the cold anymore. He took off his gloves and looked at his hands...

Things had changed...

Powersets: Cold domination / Electrical blast

(Verglas is french for Freezing Rain and that is supposed to be a full trenchcoat tail but I didn't notice the clipping through the wall until now.)

The storm I talk about in the story actually did happen on that same date. There are dozens of YouTube videos about it (that I didn't know). Don't think any of them captured a man getting electrocuted and becoming a hero though....darn.

Nice. I wonder if there's

Nice. I wonder if there's anything online about the massive ice storm a few years back..... that's what I was thinking until I saw that your date was March of this year.
